Payment and Refund Policy

Last Updated: 06 October 2026

This Payment and Refund Policy applies to all courses, training programmes and related services offered by redcarpetki in the United Kingdom. It explains how payments are handled, when contracts are formed, and the circumstances under which refunds may be available. The policy is written in accordance with the Consumer Rights Act 2015, the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, UK GDPR and the Payment Services Regulations 2017.

Scope of the Policy and Services Covered

This document covers all paid courses delivered by redcarpetki that focus on professional video operation, live signal management, content distribution, camera work and the creation of reliable high-quality feeds for news programmes and television broadcasting. It applies to both online digital courses and any in-person workshops or hybrid programmes conducted within the United Kingdom. Free introductory materials or promotional trials are excluded from the refund provisions set out below.

Prices, Currencies, Taxes and Additional Charges

All prices are displayed in British Pounds Sterling (GBP) and include value added tax at the prevailing UK rate unless stated otherwise. Where a course spans multiple modules, the total price is shown at checkout. No hidden fees apply for standard digital delivery. Any additional costs such as optional certification, printed materials or extended support packages are clearly itemised before payment is requested. Currency conversion fees charged by your bank or card issuer remain your responsibility.

Accepted Payment Methods, Authorisation and Security

We accept major credit and debit cards, PayPal and bank transfers for course purchases. Payment is authorised at the point of checkout. All transactions are processed through secure payment gateways that comply with PCI DSS standards. redcarpetki does not store full card details. Authorisation may be declined if the payment method is invalid or flagged for fraud; in such cases you will be notified immediately and no contract is formed until successful payment is received.

Order Confirmation and Contract Formation

Once payment is successfully processed you will receive an email confirmation containing your order reference, course access details and a copy of this policy. The contract between you and redcarpetki is formed at the moment the confirmation email is sent. Access to digital course content begins immediately after confirmation unless you have exercised your right to cancel within the statutory cooling-off period.

Cancellation Rights and Applicable Periods

Under UK law you have a 14-day cooling-off period from the date of the confirmation email during which you may cancel without giving a reason. For digital content, cancellation rights end once you begin downloading or streaming the course material. If you request immediate access you expressly agree that the right to cancel is lost. For any in-person workshops, cancellation must be received at least 30 days before the scheduled date to qualify for a full refund of fees paid.

Refund Eligibility, Exclusions and Non-Refundable Items

Refunds are available during the cooling-off period provided no substantial course content has been accessed. Once a course has been substantially downloaded or viewed, refunds are not granted except in cases of proven technical failure on our side. Non-refundable items include any promotional bundles, certification fees already claimed and third-party software licences supplied with the course. Services that have already been performed, such as completed live training sessions, are excluded from refund.

Step-by-Step Procedure to Request a Refund

To request a refund you must email [email protected] within the applicable time limit. Include your full name, order reference number, the email address used for purchase and a brief statement of the reason for cancellation. You may also telephone 01483 234344 during business hours for assistance, although written confirmation is required. Requests received outside the cooling-off period will be assessed on a case-by-case basis under our discretionary goodwill policy.

Inspection, Approval, Rejection and Notification

Upon receipt of a valid request we will acknowledge it within two working days. Our team will verify that no substantial content has been accessed and confirm eligibility. You will receive a written decision by email within seven working days. If rejected, the email will explain the specific reason and outline any alternative options such as transferring the booking to a future date.

Refund Method, Processing Time and Receipt of Funds

Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method. Credit or debit card refunds typically appear on your statement within five to ten working days. PayPal refunds are processed within three working days. Bank transfers may take up to seven working days depending on your bank. We will notify you once the refund has been issued. No administration fee is charged for refunds processed under statutory rights.

Special Rules for Digital Content, Subscriptions and Promotional Offers

Digital courses are supplied immediately upon purchase. By ticking the consent box at checkout you acknowledge that you lose the right to cancel once streaming or download begins. Subscription-style access to updated modules is billed in advance and may be cancelled at any renewal date with 14 days' notice. Promotional offers such as early-bird discounts are non-refundable once the promotional period has ended.

Failed Payments, Duplicate Charges, Chargebacks and Suspected Fraud

If a payment fails you will be contacted to arrange an alternative method. Duplicate charges are investigated and refunded automatically within five working days. Chargebacks are treated as cancellations and may result in removal of course access. Any suspected fraudulent activity will be reported to the appropriate authorities and may lead to account suspension while investigations take place.

Mandatory Consumer Rights That Cannot Be Excluded

Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or the Consumer Contracts Regulations. If a course is not of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose or as described you may be entitled to a repair, replacement or refund regardless of the time limits stated above. You can also contact Citizens Advice or the Competition and Markets Authority for free guidance on your rights.
